Trent “Rambo” Wilson wades through carnage for a gallant 3rd place

It was a calm night in Athens, GA reminded me of this one time in ‘Nam . Little did I know the horrors that would unfold in front of my eyes. The attacks were thick and fast from the get-go. a group went. Most of the big teams were in it, including Trent. He looked good. I threw a high-five Cody’s way, we knew this was a good move. 2 more guys went across and that was all the good teams represented and the field shut down for the group to take a lap. That was the easy part. Then all hell broke loose in the field. One guy tried to slide up inside of turn 2, caught the barrier, puncture his lung and hit the barrier out into the road causing a massive pile of bodies, some major casualties. Tommy smacked his head pretty good, but surprising was only feeling a bit slow and didn’t know the answer of 1 + 1 (it is 2 he said 11) so all was normal on that front, but Trent had given his forks a run for their money and it looked as though Trent had won that battle, the forks looked a little worse for wear. In a brave move, Tommy gave him his bike to keep going in the race. Tommy went on to get further lightheaded, but did eventually survive the incident. Oh I think Tim went down in the bingle too, he has racked up 45 crashes already this year and is looking to break the all time NRC records for most crashes in a single season.

The race got going again with plenty of blood being sprayed around, soon after, another smash and grab down the front straight I looked behind and didn’t see Trent, I though he must’ve ate it. But apparently he got scared of crashing again so he stopped and walked around the bodies strewn on the road. We are getting to finish now and I’m doing my best to help Trent out, but he was a little bit wobbly after his harrowing experience and on someone else’s bike. We are in ok spot, then down the backstraight Healthnet crashes themselves in the middle of the road causing another massive pile-up in which my luck had finally run out and down I went like the sack of crap that I am and I broke my wrist. Well not really but it hurts like hell. Tim “Two First Names” Henry went down as well. I think.

That was 3 to go, so we were out, but Trent was still upright a doing great. Great position down the back straight and he looking good. I was already warming up my hand to throw a high five his way for him winning, but alas, some ridiculously slow guys who were getting lapped were duking it out through the final turn causing trent to jam the brakes and come out of the corner in his hardest gear and so a couple of blokes come past him up the straight so it was not to be. It was great to see those guys duking it out for 800th place, it is important to go down with your guns blazing, kids never give up. Ever. Even if it means that you will ruin other peoples lives, never give up. Ever. At all.
