Central Valley Classic

G’day,
Willo here, back for another season in the bright orange colors. I arrived a fortnight ago in San Diego for the 07’ training camp. I was pretty quick to asses that we had a real good bunch of blokes this season and everyone gelled with each other from the onset. Of course with four Aussie’s on the team, we were quick to hand each of the new rider’s nicknames for the year and make them feel at home by taking the piss out of each other.
San Diego presented us with some great weather which made me very happy indeed, after coming from the Aussie summer. The difference in temperature was a mild jump compared to previous years. I may be getting soft, if they keep treating me like this!
The kit and bikes are sensational. The kit looks awesome and the new bike shorts are a huge improvement on an already good set of shorts. The jersey has a lot more black than last year and makes the combo a complete sexy outfit. The bikes also look great and I love the new color scheme. The training camp itself was good and we knocked out some long ride clocking up some miles. I struggled the first few days though, with jet lag while doing long days in the saddle. The 7 hour day definitely put me in the box for a day or two.
Then off to the first race of the year for the team, The Central Valley Classic. The first day was a hard day with plenty of climbing. A group of seven got away on the last climb and we had Caesar in there flying the flag. A much better day than we had last year. I had bad memories of the pan flat circuit race in the wet and freezing cold.
The TT was a good chance for us to have a thrash on our Tt bikes and as time trials go, it was uneventful with Caesar holding his seventh overall. The criterium was on for young and old seeing the overall tour win was still up for grabs. The team rode well, riding very aggressively through out the race but just coming up short for a result. Caesar kept his seventh on GC. The tour was a good race for our first outing and I am rapped to get the cobwebs blown out of the system and we can look forward to San Dimas next weekend.
Cheers Willo

Hello Trent,
Please do something with your hair. It looks dreadful. Please take a leaf out of Jeffery’s book, he could probably hook you up with a nice cut.
Love,
